Kimberly Hernandez, PhDLicensed Psychologist

Kimberly is a licensed psychologist and supervisor who joined Preston Hollow Health & Wellness in 2019 as a postdoctoral fellow and has remained an integral part of the practice ever since. She has specialized interests in trauma, men's issues, infertility, and eating disorders, and also works extensively with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, and anger-related concerns. Kimberly enjoys working with Christian clients who wish to integrate their faith into therapy and explore healing through a biblical lens.

At the heart of Kimberly's work is the belief that people are best able to explore, heal, and grow when they feel genuinely understood and supported. She takes a relational perspective, helping clients understand how their relationships with others, and with themselves, influence their emotional wellbeing. She strives to create a warm, compassionate, and collaborative environment where clients feel safe enough to explore difficult experiences, deepen self-understanding, and move toward lasting growth. Kimberly also places a strong emphasis on helping clients better understand and utilize their emotions, viewing emotional awareness as a powerful pathway to insight, intuition, and healthier relationships.

A proud Texan, Kimberly completed all of her education and clinical training in the state she calls home. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Texas A&M University, followed by a Master of Arts and Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Texas Woman's University. She completed her APA-accredited predoctoral internship at the University of Houston Student Counseling Center and received clinical training in a wide range of settings, including trauma crisis centers, hospitals, university counseling centers, and residential substance abuse treatment programs. Her doctoral research focused on the impact of infertility on men, a topic that continues to inform her clinical work today.

Kimberly lives south of Dallas with her husband, three young children, and their dog. Outside of the office, she enjoys baking, reading, and spending time with her church community.
