Joyti Jariwala, PsyDPostdoctoral Therapist

Joyti was born in Punjab, India and moved to New Jersey when she was 8 years old. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Cincinnati. She then went on to graduate school and earned her Master’s degree and her Doctorate (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from Illinois School of Professional Psychology.

While traveling in her native country of India, Joyti recognized a lack of awareness regarding mental health, a topic that was considered taboo. She became passionate about removing the stigma surrounding mental illness and therapy. Joyti believes that every individual has a life narrative that is valuable, precious and worth knowing. Her favorite quote is: “To know how much there is to know is the beginning of learning to live.” - Dorothy West. She approaches her patients with openness, compassion and genuine curiosity to hear their story. Joyti strives to help her clients develop insight and self-compassion in order to find healing from the difficulties they have experienced. She enjoys working with adolescent and adult clients and her primary areas of interest include: relationships/interpersonal issues, women’s health concerns, processing trauma, and life and career transitions.

Joyti recently moved to Dallas with her husband. When not seeing patients, she enjoys baking, cooking, reading (motivational and spiritual literature), taking long walks and exploring new areas. Supervised by Jennifer Bradford, PhD.
