Giovanni SavinoTherapist

Giovanni was born and raised in Elmira, New York. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania in Mansfield, Pennsylvania, and is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at The Chicago School.

Giovanni takes a collaborative, client-centered approach to therapy and primarily draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). He helps clients identify unhelpful patterns of thinking, build resilience, and develop practical strategies for navigating life's challenges. At the same time, he believes meaningful change requires understanding the broader context of a person's life and incorporates developmental, relational, and social history into his work to better understand how past experiences continue to shape the present.

While he enjoys working with individuals across a wide range of backgrounds and concerns, Giovanni is especially passionate about supporting men and helping reduce the stigma surrounding men's mental health. He recognizes that men remain significantly less likely to seek therapy than women, despite research suggesting that concerns such as anxiety, depression, and emotional distress occur at comparable rates. As one of relatively few male therapists in the field, he is particularly committed to creating a space where men feel comfortable discussing vulnerability, relationships, identity, and emotional wellbeing without judgment.

Giovanni also enjoys working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, academic stress, life transitions, and difficulties related to stress management. He strives to create a warm, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable exploring challenges, gaining perspective, and moving toward their personal goals with greater clarity and confidence.
Outside of the office, Giovanni loves a good scary movie, video games, trying new restaurants, spending time with friends, and getting outdoors for the occasional hike.
