Erin Jenkins, PhDTherapist
Born in Chicago and raised in Texas from the age of 11, Erin brings a broad range of clinical experience and a warm, collaborative approach to her work. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Grambling State University, her Master of Science in Juvenile Forensic Psychology from Prairie View A&M University, and her Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University. Erin completed her APA-accredited predoctoral internship at the Counseling and Mental Health Center at The University of Texas at Austin, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in integrated health within UT Austin's outpatient general medicine clinic. Her training spans college counseling centers, community mental health settings, private practice, and integrated healthcare environments. She is also a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA).
Erin works with clients facing a wide range of concerns, including trauma, anxiety, depression, identity development, relationship difficulties, life transitions, women's issues, interpersonal violence, family concerns, and longstanding emotional challenges. She is especially passionate about supporting college students and young professionals as they navigate periods of growth, uncertainty, and change. A core value of her work is providing culturally responsive care that honors each client's unique background, experiences, and identity.
Drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based approaches, and other evidence-based interventions, Erin tailors treatment to each client's needs and goals. She views therapy as a collaborative process focused on increasing self-awareness, strengthening resilience, and helping clients identify and overcome the barriers that may be keeping them from living more fully and authentically.
Erin takes a holistic view of health and wellness, recognizing the deep connection between emotional, behavioral, physical, and relational wellbeing. She strives to help clients build greater balance, insight, and self-understanding so they can create lasting improvements in their lives.
